gojackrabbit events

gojackrabbit has a passion and flair for bringing groups together around interesting, potent, soulful, novel and exciting subjects. Whether a small gathering to explore an issue, a team building day or a three week expedition to India with a group of like minded women. Whatever we do, the underlying intention is either literal or metaphorical movement!

Events include:

Challenge Burnout through Adventure!

'In exploring the mystery of death we inevitably come to know what life is, what love is' - Osho

Full of Life while Dancing with Death

Through dedicated time using heartfelt sharing, mindful movement, artwork and an experienced facilitator you can move into a more conscious life with death as your ally. Topics to be explored and approaches used include:

  • Open circle

  • Creating safe space

  • Stories of loss

  • Creative exploration

  • What happens when we die

  • Small groups

  • Movement ritual

  • Your Death

  • Reflection

  • Closing circle

‘I believe that by hiding death and dying behind closed doors we do more harm than good to our society. I will offer participants the experience of connecting with their mortality and the inevitability of their death. It is possible to transform negative associations like dread and fear into accepting the reality that one day we will die and therefore releasing ourselves to live more fully... until the time comes’. Online Hakomi Workshops

The Wisdom of the Body series. Eight sessions over 12 months for 3.5 hours per session.

Trauma affects the body & the mind. Our nervous system influences how we perceive and respond to situations in our daily life. Befriending your nervous system ie having mindflul, embodied knowledge, is key and leads to a deeper understanding of how trauma impacts our bodymind. Through undertaking the Wisdom of the Body series you will supercharge your practice. Learning to support the integration of the trauma in yours and others bodies, leads to the resources needed to respond to the diverse experiences in your work room.

Stephen Porges Polyvagal theory is particularly relevant to us and is referred to frequently.

Your Trainers hold the reality that we are not immune from trauma as much as we’d like to study it. The territory we find ourselves in means each class will emphasise self care and we will use simple rituals leading to self discovery and connection in your learning community. We will weave theory into experiential exercises to activate healing process for our bodies and our nervous system as well as our academic appetite. This will be a rich & deep experience and will appeal to practitioners from all walks of life.

So where to start? The body of course!... and specifically the nervous system… with an essential understanding of the Autonomic NS. This pathway leads us to the Wisdom of the Body.

Gabriela Valdés Villarreal from Mexico

I accompany individuals & groups to self-discovery and healing, well-being & peace.
I am fulfilled and inspired by being alongside others in the discovery process and taking steps towards more freedom and harmony in our hearts.
For the people I work with I am passionate about finding paths that support natural movement towards expansion and discovering the limits that get in the way. My path of healing and learning is a source of awe that guides me.

Silence, mindfulness, compassion, breathing guides me.

Art & creativity as a doorway to healing and the heart guides me.

The importance of reconnecting with nature, which is ourselves guides me and life, nourishment, joy, inspiration & beauty guides me.

I currently live in Mexico City.

Vicky Gaughan from the UK

My body and my ancestry are built from the steel industry. Steel is my resource and it’s metaphorically in my cells. The deeper I go into my history the more resources I find. Blades of steel are not weapons to me, but they are powerful metaphors that give me the ability to cut to the chase, slice through injustices, and spread love.

I am a psychotherapist, and Hakomi trainer with my own lived experience of individual, collective, and historical trauma...and healing. I use my extensive experience in therapy and in particular somatic therapies to support others to recognise and safely release trauma through resourcing the body. As Bessel van der Kolk tells us, ‘the body keeps the score’ and Stephen Porges says, ‘safety IS the therapy’ These two statements are guiding principles and are the foundation of how I practice.

I'm from Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

In person Hakomi Weekends in Lancaster UK

Sometimes trainings are a few hours. They could be a full day or a weekend too. Whatever the duration, our Hakomi trainings are made up of experiential practices, working as a whole group, in small groups and individually, with spacious breaks. Spaciousness is a key word; there is lots of time to settle and become immersed in this simple and at the same time, profound approach of body-oriented psychotherapy.

You do not need any prior knowledge or experience of Hakomi and it is open to anyone willing to explore a mindful approach to self-understanding. After undertaking 45 days training you may chose to work towards Hakomi certification.
